Everything in life is temporary. So if things are going good, enjoy it because it won’t last forever. And if things are going bad, don’t worry because it can’t last forever either.
Unless you are my husband and me. Nothing has gone ‘right’ for us in the 7 years we have been married. Because of my health, we are constantly fighting with money. I am going through the disability process… filed almost 2 years ago, STILL no hearing date. Hubby had to take on 2nd job. Lost both parents (age 67….. one in ’07 and one is ’12) and they were divorced. So have had to fly ‘home’ to Calif twice and only because I had help. I have chronic 24/7 pain and am up a lot at night because it hurts too bad to sleep. We have $1,00000……. ‘s of dollars of medical bills; have l0st count; especially after a year ago with a perforated intestine. I was CAT scanned at 3 AM and they were running around like scalded cats and had me on a table by 5 AM. Our AC crapped out in May and We live in the south; muggy Virginia. We have not had a vacation since our honeymoon 7 years ago. Not even a long weekend to the beach. đ So excuse me if I do not acree with the sentiment that bad things won’t last forever…. I am in year 7 and until I start getting my disability … which is just the little bit extra we would need to make my scrips ($200+ a month and yes, that is the CO PAYS) plus groceries, then I might finally shake this black cloud that looms over us.

Kelli, I urge you to go to your local Department of health and Human Services and talk to someone to see what help you qualify for. In the mean time, since you have internet access please visit: http://www.dss.virginia.gov/index.html.
You may be able to get medical assistance if: “you have countable income at or below 80% of the federal poverty guidelines. If you are married and your spouse’s income is counted, the limit is $1,009 per month”.
If your income is higher, you may be eligible for limited coverage under Medicaid.
The State may also be able to assist you with the AC as it is obviously not safe to be in a house with no AC while it’s 100 degrees out.
There are options out there. And YES, things COULD be worse. You woke up this morning! You are alive! Smile đ
