Stephen Harrod Buhner (1952-2022) was an American herbalist, ecological author, and Earth poet whose work bridged plant medicine, ecology, and the imaginal dimensions of human experience.
He wrote more than 25 books, including The Lost Language of Plants, Plant Intelligence and the Imaginal Realm, Sacred Plant Medicine, and Healing Lyme. His writing argued that plants are intelligent, communicating beings, and that the modern alienation from the natural world is at the root of much human suffering.
He taught widely on what he called the heart-centered, depth-perception approach to learning from the living world.
