The short answers

Does it slow my site down?

No. It is one small image and one inline script, about 23 KB over the wire, loaded lazily in an iframe after your own page has finished. There are no fonts, no frameworks and no third-party scripts inside it.

Does it track my visitors?

No. The embed sets no cookies, runs no analytics and stores nothing. It does not know who is looking at it and neither do we.

Will it break?

The URL is versioned and we do not change what the parameters mean. If a pet is ever renamed the old id keeps working.

Can I use it commercially?

Yes, on any site, free, with no attribution beyond the credit link in the snippet.

Is this the whole game?

No, and that is on purpose. The real thing has 98 species, five life stages, a photo booth and a walk mode, and it would not be fair to load all of that onto your page. The widget is a hello. The pet is here.
